Trends for a Tuesday: What’s hot in hair right now!

Good morning, blog friends, and welcome to the week! Hope everyone had a great long weekend, and that you found some time to do some of your favourite things.

As the title of this post suggests, we are going to talk about trends today – specifically what’s new, what’s on trend, and what’s exciting in the realm of hair. Like we said in our very first blog post, it’s our specialty, it’s what moves and motivates us, and of course we want to share all our findings with you!

Are you looking for something new? Ready to break out of your winter rut? Or, are you looking for confirmation that what you’re currently rocking is still all that AND a bag of chips? Well we are here to help! Read on for the latest and greatest, the up-and-coming, and the timeless classics.

The Long Bob

Oh blog friends, this style is all over the place and it’s not going anywhere any time soon – and we are GOOD with that!

The long bob is like the gift that keeps on giving. It’s the perfect go-to when you want to shake things up and try something new, but you don’t want to give up your length just yet (we’ve all been there, we know that feel!) Wear it straight and sleek or go for texture, and let the waves take centre stage –  it’s just that versatile, and it always looks fantastic.

Are you already onboard with the long bob – or the lob, as it’s known in the biz – but you’re still searching for a way to keep it fresh and new? Adding a fringe can do just that. And, coincidentally, this takes us into our next 2016 trend!

Fringe benefits

Fringe can be a VERY divisive topic. Ask anyone who has ever taken a “should I or shouldn’t I?” poll among their friends. But, having said that, it’s a perfect way to update your look dramatically, without necessarily going for the big chop. And a fringe doesn’t have to be the full, blunt, straight across the eyebrows fringe (although we do love that look!) There is a lot to choose from in fringe world, just ask your Willow team, they’ll give it to you straight! (no pun intended)

Colour, colour, colour!

We know you’ve seen it. It’s all over Instagram, in magazines, maybe even on your friends. What is it? It’s mermaid hair, galaxy hair, watercolour hair, rainbow hair…ah yes, you know what we’re talking about. Some very dramatic and intense colour has been happening in the hair world lately, that is for sure. Will it stick around for 2016 and beyond? Signs are pointing to yes, but there is another colour on the scene that you might not have heard about just yet and that is…denim hair. That’s right, blue jeans, baby! A quick Instagram search for #denimhair pulls up a LOT of different looks, from faded, to acid wash, to deep, dark blue classic denim…so many ways to rock this trend.
