Good morning, friends, how was your weekend? Yes, yes, it’s Tuesday, and perhaps you’ve already forgotten what went on this past weekend. This is the way it goes at this time of year, isn’t it?
Was there overindulgence? If there was, we hope our little guide from Friday helped! Especially the part about not beating yourself up about it…that’s the most important thing. It can be a stressful time of year, and so today, to take a break from all the indulging and overindulging talk, we thought we’d bring it back around to finding some ways to combat the stress that can be building as we get deeper into the holiday season.
Back in October (hard to believe it was that long ago, really!) we blogged about some wonderful stress relief products from Aveda and how these can be beneficial when the going gets tough. Well, for a lot of us, the toughest going is throughout the holiday season, when expectations are high, the weather can be frightful, and there just seems to be so much to do. If you are starting to feel the pressure, revisit that article, and find your best possible stress-relief strategies.
Often, when we are overwhelmed by the sheer mountain of things we need to do, it can be helpful to take a small step back and look at the bigger picture. Aveda can actually help with this too, in a way that you might find unexpected.
Aveda has just introduced the Gratitude Set, and we think it is a wonderful idea and the perfect antidote to this season of rush, rush, rush.
“This gratitude set is designed to help you pass our gratitude on. The gratitude journal offers a quiet way to reflect on the people who care about you, places that amaze you and experiences that make you happy. The 12 gratitude notecards are your way to share it with others. The set is made with the same Certified Wildlife Friendly® and Forest Stewardship Council™ certified Lokta bark paper that wraps Aveda’s gifts—and helps empower 4,900 papermakers* to support their families and educate their children.”
You can also indulge in either a gratitude journal on its own, or the beautiful handpainted journal, to record your thoughts. Sometimes it’s nice, again, during the holiday season, to reflect on the year as it comes to an end. As difficult as 2016 has been for a lot of different reasons, we know there are still things that we are grateful for, and maybe a bit of time writing some of them down and remembering some of your favourite moments from the year is just what you need to beat the busyness of mid-December.
Consider taking the time for gratitude when you can, friends. It’s all about self-care, and it is so very important.
Have a lovely week, and we’ll see you back here on Friday, to talk once again about overindulgence…this time, the drinks!
