Welcome to Friday! And, welcome to the very beginning of year number THREE of the Willow Salon blog! Can you believe it? This little blog was born two years ago yesterday, making this post the first post of our third year “on the air” so to speak.
In two years – and 208 total posts – we’ve covered a LOT of ground in the hair, fashion, and makeup world. We’ve also tackled a few other issues along the way including Aveda’s involvement with Earth Month and their commitment to helping provide clean water around the world, as well as Aveda’s efforts to provide sustainable paper products using handmade paper and gift wrap from Nepal, and the positive impact that has on communities there – and more specifically, the positive difference it makes in the lives of Nepali women.
We’ve also taken a hard look at some of the lessons we’ve learned in providing customer service, and we’ve spent time highlighting and featuring local businesses that go above and beyond not just for us at Willow, but for their customers and clients in general.
All in all, we’ve tried to make the blog a place of community, touching on subjects that are important to our readers and to our lives. Sure there’s always going to be a little levity (remember that post about the lipstick and blush that goes on green, then changes to a pink that suits everyone? Hmmmm…might be time to revisit that one!) but what’s life without a bit of fun? Ok, a lot of fun?!?
Blogging is and always has been a two-way street. A blog needs people to write it, of course, but it also needs readers, and we are so happy you’ve all come along for the ride over the past two years, and we do hope you’ll be around for more!
We’ve created this little community on the internet as part of a much larger community of the Hamilton area and way, way beyond, and we are pretty proud of that! Because YOU are part of this community, please do get in touch if there’s anything you’d like to see featured on the blog, or if you have any questions or comments. Feedback is definitely welcomed, and other ideas and suggestions can only make us stronger.
So. What’s in store for the future of the blog? We’ve got a few plans up our collective sleeves, and more will be revealed later in the spring. Spring’s a good time to shake things up, isn’t it? All that renewal, the world coming back to life? What could be more perfect?
As always, thank you for reading! We are looking forward to continuing this journey together. Have a great weekend, we’ll chat again on Tuesday.
