Welcome back to the blog and the week! We hope you had a remarkable weekend, whatever you were up to. It was a pretty rainy one, but there sure was a lot going on, in spite of the weather. One big event that seemed to bring out the entire city was the Arkells Rally at Tim Horton’s Field! Were you there? It felt like everyone was, from the social media feeds! Maybe you were at Pride in Toronto? Always a great time, and to those of you still feeling the effects, we hope your Pride 2018 memories were some of the best ever!
You know it’s summer when every weekend has something big going on and this coming weekend is no exception. It’s Canada Day weekend, and we are happy to bring you the area roundup of what’s good and what’s up for the long holiday weekend.
If you’re lucky enough to be getting out of town, well, enjoy, friends! But, if you’re going to be hanging about here in #HamOnt and environs, let us fill you in on the fun.
Tourism Hamilton has their excellent calendar full of things to do on the long weekend, including a military tattoo at Dundurn Park, the 2nd annual Macassa Bay Yacht Club Parade of Lights, and much more.
And of course everyone wants to know about the main event – the fireworks – and for that information, check out the City of Hamilton’s website here: https://www.hamilton.ca/attractions/festivals-events/canada-day-celebration-fireworks
The city has a whole day’s worth of fun for the whole family beginning at noon and culminating with the big fireworks show at 10pm. Weather permitting, plan to make a day of it if you’re so inclined!
Waterdown’s annual Oh Canada Ribfest is happening this weekend too, and you can get all the details here. And, the Brott Music Festival plus It’s Your Festival are both happening this weekend too. All the festivals!
And be sure to check out To Do Canada for their detailed guide to all the Canada Day celebrations around the Hamilton area, and get planning!
In short, there’s nothing like a long weekend to make you think you can do it all! Give it your best shot, friends. The summers are short in this part of the world, we need to make the most out of them while we can.
Have a great week, everyone! We’ll be back with more on Friday!
