Good morning! How was everyone’s long weekend? We hope you had a wonderful one, whatever you got up to!
We really don’t always want to talk about the weather, but when the temperatures are as extreme as they were this weekend, it’s hard not to make that the focus of conversation, honestly. We are talking mid-30s Celsius, with humidity making it seem closer to 40C and those kinds of temperatures can really take their toll on us poor humans! A lot of us aren’t designed to withstand weather that hot, and if you are one of those humans, someone who suffers in the heat, we feel for you, and hope you’re able to find respite someplace cool as often as possible!
If you’re a heat seeker, well this is your time to shine! But, even a beach-loving, sun-worshipping, summer fan needs to take precautions…stay hydrated and sunscreened, friends!
Whatever your approach to the summer heat and blazing sun, there’s almost always a point where you’ve reached your maximum, and, as the saying goes, mistakes were made. Whether that was staying out too long, long after your sunscreen has lost its effectiveness (or maybe it just sweated off in the heat!) or you forgot your hat and now your hair feels, well, less soft and healthy and more, shall we say…crispy? If damage was done, Living Aveda has you covered with SOS! Summer Beauty Emergencies Solved, their roundup of ways to help yourself if – or when – the extremes of summer are just too much to handle.
This is a great little guide to those “What do I do when” moments we can have at the height of summer, or, on the flipside, in the depths of winter. Again, it’s all about those extremes. Whether temperatures are rising to astronomical heights or sinking to Ice Age kinds of lows, there is only so much we can take without a little help from an outside source.
So if you find yourself in a beauty SOS after the long weekend, take a look at this article with tips on everything from oily – or really dry – skin, to sun damaged hair and fading hair colour, and make your plan to try a little preventive medicine before the week is out and before you head out on your next beach day, to your next outdoor music festival, or backyard BBQ. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as the saying goes, and taking a few moments to prep and prevent will make your next outing a smooth and easy one.
Have a great week, everyone! We’ll see you back here on Friday for the next installment of Willow Blog Team Adventures! Enjoy this little sneak peek and we will chat again on Friday!
