You know the holidays have officially ended when BAM. All of a sudden it’s awards season once again!
The first ceremony in a (relatively) long series of awards ceremonies, was held Sunday night. The Golden Globes, always considered a slightly more casual and definitely boozier
night than, say, the Oscars is a favourite among watchers for just those reasons. And, of course, there is always the red carpet, a competitive sport for those of us watching along at home.
Were you among the millions who watched from the comfort of their living room? If you missed it, that’s ok! We are here to help you through with our guide to the fabulous red carpet looks.
And let’s be honest, they’re all pretty fabulous. We’re not here to judge on the Willow Salon blog! We try to avoid the best- and worst-dressed websites that pop up post-awards show, because it’s just not fair. Sure some looks fly better than others, but it’s one outfit and one night. Let’s just talk about how everyone is best-dressed! And, of course, you – and we – are allowed to have our favourites!
If you want to see every – actually every look from Sunday night, look no further than The Muse, bringing you just that, with some excellent commentary from the author.
But what about faves? What did you love?
There were, as always, a few themes throughout the night. Ice blue was HOT for sure. Lady Gaga, Gina Rodriguez, and Alison Brie nailed those colours, and then we also had dark/midnight blue that looked so good on Gemma Chan, Amy Adams, and Idris Elba.
There were amazing metallics, hella plunging necklines, and some sweet, sweet, structured suits on icons Jamie Lee Curtis and Candace Bergen. Also, how cool are Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry? Check out VOGUE for more GG fashion too, of course.
Saving a personal favourite for last, can we all agree that Billy Porter pretty much RULES with this outfit? That bedazzled suit. THAT FREAKIN’ CAPE?!? Amazing.
Enjoy the photos if you have time to check them out, friends. And just think, only a few weeks ‘til it’s Oscars night and we can do it all again.
Thanks for reading, everyone. Enjoy the week, chat with you again on Friday.
